Konshus Browser Extension

Privacy Policy

Effective July 27, 2026 (supersedes the June 22, 2026 version). Applies only to the Konshus browser extension (Chrome / Edge / Brave / Firefox), version 1.5.0 and later.

What the extension reads

Only the AI conversation pages you open: ChatGPT (chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com), Claude (claude.ai), Gemini (gemini.google.com), Perplexity (www.perplexity.ai). The extension reads the conversation DOM on those pages and nothing else.

It does not read your browsing history, other tabs, form fields outside the AI page, cookies for other sites, passwords, or anything on non-listed hosts.

Backup runs automatically on those four sites while it is switched on. You don't have to press anything — that's the point of it. You can turn Backup off per site in the extension popup, and turning it off stops all reading of that site immediately.

What it sends, and where

Conversations are sent to your own Konshus Vault at https://konshus.ai/api/* over HTTPS, authenticated with a Bearer token you created in your Vault (Connections → Manage). The token is stored locally in the extension's chrome.storage.local and never sent to any third party.

Your per-site preferences (Backup on/off, Whisper on/off, destination) are also synced to your Konshus account so they follow you between browsers. They contain no conversation content.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's. Konshus is a memory Vault, not a dataset.

Diagnostics (and how to turn them off)

To notice within hours when ChatGPT or Gemini changes their page structure and our capture breaks, the extension sends a small diagnostic ping after a capture attempt. It contains: the extension version, which of the four sites it ran on, the URL path only (never the query string, so never your search terms), whether the attempt succeeded, how many turns were found, which CSS selectors matched, and an error message if one was thrown.

It never contains your conversation text, your prompts, the AI's replies, your Whisper, your token, your email, or any account identifier. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or resale.

You can switch it off any time: open the extension popup and untick Send anonymous diagnostics. Everything else keeps working.

Where it ends up

On our servers, your conversations are stored encrypted in your private Vault. You can export everything (Settings → Export) or hard-delete everything (Settings → Delete account) at any time — deletion is processed within the 7-day grace window and audit-logged.

What we don't collect

  • No advertising, marketing, or behavioural analytics. The only outbound signal beyond your own Vault is the capture-diagnostics ping described above, and it carries no conversation content.
  • No keystroke logging, mouse tracking, or session recording.
  • No reading of pages outside the four supported AI hosts listed in the manifest.
  • No third-party SDKs, no ad networks, no fingerprinting.

Permissions, in plain English

  • storage: remember your Bearer token, your Whisper, and per-site preferences locally.
  • alarms: refresh your Whisper on a timer so it doesn't go stale between visits. No other scheduled work.
  • host_permissions for the four AI sites + konshus.ai: read conversation DOM and send it to your own Vault.

Removing the extension

Uninstalling the extension wipes its local token immediately. Your Vault data stays with you (we don't touch it). To erase server-side data too, sign in and use Settings → Delete account.
