Grokbot vs Perplexity: the one where Grokbot mostly wins
We try not to declare winners. This is the exception. Perplexity is an excellent search product, and Grokbot does most of what people buy it for while also being a full assistant. Here's the honest breakdown, including where Perplexity still holds.
The honest verdict
The reason to pay for Perplexity was fast, sourced answers about things happening now. Grokbot does that at least as well — arguably better on anything where the story is the conversation rather than the article — and then keeps going into chat, voice, image and video generation, code, and agents that do multi-step work.
Perplexity's remaining edge is real but narrow: citation-first presentation. If your job involves defending every claim to someone else, that audit trail is worth paying for and Grokbot's chattier format is a step down.
For everyone else — and that's most people — this is the clearest "cancel one subscription" case in the whole comparison set.
The part neither one solves
Whichever you pick, the memory of you lives inside it. Switch tools, lose a model, hit a reset — and the version of you it learned goes with it. That's the argument for keeping your own copy: one Vault you own, plugged into Grokbot, Perplexity, and whatever comes next. Why Konshus exists.
